Football is Uganda’s single biggest passion point and AFCON, being Africa’s biggest show piece, gave Nile Special an amazing opportunity to connect and bring Ugandans together for a great cause. Our campaign dubbed #UgandaUnited did exactly that. We gave our consumers a platform to show their passion for the Uganda Cranes who were in their second consecutive AFCON tournament. Eleven of our consumers were thrilled with the opportunity to travel to Egypt to watch their heroes live, an experience truly made of Uganda that they will live to remember.

The Uganda Cranes won their game against DRC, lost against Egypt and drew with Zimbabwe. With these four points the Uganda Cranes, for the first time since 1979, managed to make it past the group stages to the round of 16 which by all measures created the biggest sporting highlight for the nation. As a brand, we rewarded our consumers by bringing this great experience to them in the only way we can, #MadeOfUganda.
