Last week, our Global Legal & Corporate Affairs leaders, John Blood, Chief Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer, Andres Peñate Global, VP of Corporate Affairs had the privilege to engage with some of our stakeholders and staff, during a brief visit to Uganda from the head office, AB Inbev in New York, US.
The duo who were hosted by Adu Rando, NBL Managing Director and Onapito Ekomoloit, Legal & Corporate Affairs Director, reaffirmed how critical the support of the stakeholders in the private and public sector is in our company’s achievement of its purpose, “a future with more cheers” and thanked them.
They shared the company’s aspiration to foster better working relations and support accordingly to enable the growth of Uganda’s economy and improve communities with Hon Matia Kasaijja, Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and Gen Katumba Wamala, Minister of Works and Transport among others.
They were accompanied by our colleagues from the AB InBev Africa Zone leadership team, Andrew Whiting, Vice President – Legal & Corporate Affairs, Mesiya Mwangoka Policy and Strategy Director AB Inbev Africa, Zandile Nqoko Smart Drinking and Reputation Manager.
The guests hosted to a networking cocktail with our business partners and staff at Protea Hotel Kololo on arrival. They also had an opportunity to network with our consumers during our Smart Drinking Happy Hour hosted at Cielo Lounge in Kisementi, where Nile Special Ambassador, Edward Kiwanuka popularly known as Mr Google marvelled the guests with his entertaining demeanor.
