Our top management team, including board chair Onapito Ekomoloit, MD Adu Rando, and Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs Njuki Emmanuel, and AB InBev Africa’s Greater Africa Director of Regulatory Policy, Strategy & Sustainability, Mesiya Mwangoka met with His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of Uganda, at his farm in Kisozi.
The President appreciated the positive contributions Nile Breweries has made to the economy, including tax contribution, empowerment of several farmers, job creation, and the enhancement of value-added exports. The discussions covered a broad range of topics relevant to the beverage industry in Uganda. These included responsible consumption practices to promote public health, taxation policies, potential for increasing the use of locally sourced raw materials in our production processes and comprehensive approach towards addressing illicit alcohol.
This high-level meeting signifies a positive step forward in our collaborative efforts with the Ugandan government. By working together, we can ensure the sustainable growth of the industry while contributing to the nation’s economic development and social well-being.
